Terms of use
Written to be read. The theme throughout: this app measures sounds and tells you what it measured, nothing more. Back to the site.
What Neigh is, and is not
Neigh analyzes recordings and reports measurements: sounds located, their acoustic properties, and, where accuracy has been measured and published, a name for a call. It does not read your horse's mind, does not report emotions, and is not veterinary, training, or behavioral advice. If you are worried about a horse's health or behavior, talk to a veterinarian or a qualified professional, not an app.
Accuracy is published, and imperfect
Every number the app shows was measured against recordings labelled by people, and the methods page shows those measurements, including what the app misses. You agree that you are using a measuring tool with published error rates, not an oracle.
Your recordings stay yours
You own your clips. If you choose to share a sound, you give us permission to have a person review it and to use it to teach and evaluate the recognition system. That permission covers review and teaching, and nothing else. You can request deletion at any time.
Respect the animals and the people
Record where you are allowed to record. Do not use the app to harass people or stress animals. Any future feature that plays sounds is for human ears; do not aim playback at animals to provoke reactions.
Payments
Free features are free. Paid features are described plainly before any charge, purchases follow the rules of the store you bought them through, and earned credits have no cash value.
The legal paragraph, in plain words
The app is provided as is. To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions made based on its measurements; the measurements are inputs to your judgement, not replacements for it. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
Contact and changes
Questions: info@cipherandrow.com. If these terms change materially, the app will say so before the change applies.
